Eriu was the queen of The Forest and the mother of Aisling. She ruled hundreds of years before the time of Kells. She was the wife of Lugh, the noble king. Both were Tuatha Dé Danann. Her age is unknown.
History[]
Eriu may have taught Aisling supernatural skills, such as naturebending, mistbending, and shape shifting, but this is inevident, as Aisling had never said where she got her powers in the film. But it is a likely reason. She may have also taught her how to communicate with animals as well.
When the humans unlocked Crom Cruach, and he was unleashed upon the people, she was the last to die. She possibly hid Aisling away by a large statue or stone, where she may have said her last goodbye. It was a very sad moment for both of them. She faced after Lugh's attempt to attack him, who unfortunately was killed shortly after. Eriu brandished her sword and attacked Crom many times, trying to force him back into his cave from whence he came. But he bit into her as she managed to seal him in, and then devoured her, leaving poor Aisling to survive alone in the woods.
Appearance[]
Eriu had long, flowing white hair like her daughter, Aisling. She bore a face very similar to hers, and had green eyes like her. She wore a laural with three golden oak leaves, signifying her significance and her role as queen. She also wore flowing golden robes with an orange stripe down the middle, with suns on it, like what the rest of the Tuatha wore. She had a large, two-toned sword, one side being gold and the other orange.
